Build Shared

This project reimagines a traditional single-family log cabin into a vibrant, multi-unit community designed to address the critical housing needs of Jackson, Wyoming’s workforce. Located in the heart of the iconic mountain town, the project transforms a structure emblematic of Jackson's rustic heritage into a modern, seven-unit townhome development. This adaptive reuse not only preserves the original character of the site but also maximizes its potential to serve the community. By embracing thoughtful design principles, the project optimizes density while maintaining harmony with the surrounding natural and architectural context.

The design approach blends practicality and aesthetics, creating spaces that are functional, energy-efficient, and tailored to the needs of the local workforce. Each unit is designed with an emphasis on comfort and durability, incorporating contemporary finishes and sustainable building materials. Shared amenities, such as communal outdoor spaces, provide opportunities for residents to connect while fostering a sense of community. The project balances the rugged charm of the original log cabin with modern design elements, ensuring it remains a visual and cultural asset to the town.

This innovative project addresses a pressing regional issue: the lack of affordable housing for those who power Jackson’s economy. By converting a single-family structure into seven townhomes, the development makes a bold statement about sustainability and community-focused design. The Jackson Workforce Townhomes demonstrate how creative architectural solutions can deliver significant social impact while honoring the character and history of a place.
