Spiralcute, US Headquarters
A Japanese toy company planting its first American flag didn't want just an office. It wanted a statement- something that felt as considered and playful as the products it makes.
BS found that statement in a brick commercial building on Colorado Avenue, and in the tension between its industrial bones and the world Spiralcute inhabits. We stripped the building back to what it was: honest, tactile, Santa Monica grit - and then let the brand fill it with light. Literally. An oculus cut into the entry canopy casts Spiralcute's logo as a shadow on the ground below, a quiet trick that stops people in their tracks and tells you everything about the company before you've walked through the door.
Inside, the plan is organized around the way this team actually works: open collaboration at the center, private offices and collection showrooms at the edges, and enough moments of discovery that the space rewards the people who spend their days in it. The brick stays. The warmth stays. The spirit of a company that has been making people smile for decades now has a home in Los Angeles.
Some buildings don't need to be reinvented. They just need the right owner. And the right light..
