This penthouse-level workplace in Santa Monica represents the culmination of a multi-phase transformation for a private equity family office of approximately 35 employees. Completed over a series of carefully sequenced renovations, the project marks our fourth major intervention for the client, with each floor reimagined one at a time to allow the firm to remain fully operational throughout the process. The design reflects the evolution of both the organization and its culture, creating a highly tailored environment that balances the sophistication expected of an institutional investment platform with the warmth and hospitality of a family-owned enterprise.

Conceived as a destination within the office, the penthouse functions as a conference center and hospitality hub for hosting investors, operating partners, and external guests. A large café and gathering space anchors the floor, supported by a variety of formal and informal meeting environments that encourage collaboration and relationship-building. Natural materials, crafted millwork, exposed structural elements, and curated amenities create an atmosphere that feels more akin to a living room than a traditional corporate office. The result is a space that elevates the client experience while serving as the social and cultural heart of the firm's headquarters.
